Archaeological Museum G.Rambotti
Archaeological Museum G.Rambotti born from the desire to establish a museum dedicated to the prehistory of Lake Garda, corroborated by the discoveries of the late twentieth century.
Archaeological Museum G.Rambotti of Desenzano was inaugurated in 1990, is rich of finds of various origin: from the site of the Lavagnone with the excavations of R. Perini among which the famous plow, those found in the stilts that still remain along the shores of the southern part of the lake and brought from enthusiasts; those come to light with the periodic plowing of the fields at the Lavagnone; from the discoveries of the various archaeological groups in the area. The museum presents an exhibition itinerary that starts from the most ancient phases of occupation of the territory, passes through the Bronze Age with its handicraft and agricultural activities and amply illustrates the theme of stilt houses. Regarding the wetlands of archaeological interest, this area is perhaps one of the most important in Europe because the anaerobic conditions of the places of discovery allow a good conservation of the artifacts in organic material of which a valid example is the plow of Lavagnone.
