Civic Tower Medole
Civic Tower Medole is what remains of the medieval castle of Medole, built in defense of the village because of frequent raids, it is thought could go back to before the year 1000, even if a document would date it around 1200; it had three sides and a quarter open.
Civic Tower Medole, in 1900 it was owned by Count Umberto di Parma, then passed to Ezzelino da Romano, the Visconti, the Scaligeri, another time to the Visconti family and was also thought of in Venice. In 1440 the widow of Gian Galeazzo Visconti gave it to the Gonzagas. In the 14th-15th century the urban imprint was given to the castle that we can see now, with the square-based tower with clock and the buildings within the walls. Near the tower we find the Fancelliana house so defined for the Ghibelline battlements.
