Polpenazze castle

Polpenazze castle was built in the tenth century as a defense against Hungarian invasions was destroyed by Filippo Maria Visconti and later rebuilt by the Venetians. In the sixteenth century a part of the castle was demolished to allow the construction of the parish church. Today, only a small part of the walls and some parts of the old entrance, once protected by the tower where you can still see the slits of the drawbridge. Within its walls was built the parish church dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.
