Red Cross Memorial
The memorial is a monument built with stones from all over the world to testify of the states that are members of the organization
Red Cross Memorial it was erected in 1959 in memory of the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Jean Henry Dunant who, after attending the battle of Solferino, drew the idea of the foundation of an international rescue association which later became the Red Cross. The monument has on the right hand the names of 148 countries belonging to the International Red Cross. The Memorial is located on the road leading to Piazza Castello, under the Spia d’Italia, at the end of a long avenue of cypresses
