Church of San Pietro e Paolo
Church of San Pietro e Paolo
the parish church of Torri del Benaco on lake Garda
Church of San Pietro e Paolo It was built in neoclassical style in 1719, replacing the Romanesque former because of its precarious conditions. In those years the bell tower was also built, using as one of the old castle towers. Inside, the church has a single nave, four lateral marble altars dedicated to S. Filippo Neri, Madonna del Carmine, S. Antonio Abate and Madonna del Rosario, and a main one dating back to the previous structure with a banner depicting the Madonna and Child among the saints Peter and Paul, opera by Brescia Sebastiano Aragonese. To see the sails of the ceiling frescoed by the Veronese Felice Cappelletti and Gualfardo Lipella, there is also an organ of 1743, placed above the entrance and still functioning.
