Botanical garden Mount Baldo in Novezzina is in the town of Ferrara di Montebaldo at 1232 meters above sea level on the eastern side of the massif, created in 1989 by Monte Baldo Community. It covers about 2, square meters and collects plants and flowers native of the Baldo that are grown and presented for educational purposes and dissemination of scientific research. The Garden is located on the site of a former tree nursery, here are a collection of more than a thousand species native to the exclusion of imported species from other environments. Microenvironments and ecosystems have been recreated as similar as possible to the original, by rock gardens, woodland with beech, from the pasture, wetlands. Many endemic species (species are those that have survived during the period of glaciation above the glaciers, while elsewhere disappeared just because the ice), many species of orchids.
Opening time:
every day from 1st May to 3th September, from 9 to 18.
However, you can visit at any time of year, by appointment and accompanied by naturalist guides.
