Calvagese della Riviera lies on a hill close to the river Chiese,
born as an agricultural village, it is now known for its typical products of Garda Lake and the tranquility of the places; its wines, such as chiaretto and groppello, the extra virgin oil dop of Garda zone, the proximity to the lake, golf, peace and less frequented tourist itineraries, have made this area a viable tourist destination. The church of San Pietro of Antiochia, with its interesting frescos, and the remains of the Castello di Calvagese (Calvagese Castle) are worth a mention; also, in Carzago the Church of Saint Lorenzo and the remains of the Castle, with its four towers. Until 1927, Carzago was a a municipality, later included in the Calvagese one. From here it is possible to see the lake, and that is the reason of its name of “della Riviera” (“of the Riviera”).
