Commemoration of the historic feat of arms of the 30 April 1848, Official Ceremony of the Carabinieri in Piazza Carlo Alberto.

Historical context. E ‘being the First War of Independence, during the late morning of 30 April 1848 the Piedmontese troops are deployed ready to conquer the station Pastrengo, still firmly held by Marshal Radetsky. King Carlo Alberto patrol the places of battle imminent; for safety precede it on ahead a dozen policemen, from the bushes on the enemy front part a sudden fusillade which makes skid horses and exposes the King isolated to other more dangerous attacks. Major A. Negri Sanfront recognizes the precarious situation and, at the head of the three squadrons of Carabinieri of the royal escort, intervieneprontamente with a Charge overwhelming that secures the King Carlo Alberto.
