Chiesa dei SS.Giovanni e Marziale
The church of SS. John and Martial located in the center of the picturesque village of Breonio, next to an ancient fountain. The structure probably dates from 12 but was rebuilt in the late fifteenth century, the period which remain in the Gothic style exterior decorations of the apse. The interior space is divided by a single nave and a Latin cross; fine is the wooden shovel shovel of Francis that are at the center of the apse along with the statues of the patron saints (St. John the Baptist, St. Anthony Abbot and St. Martial) and various biblical episodes. Again, we find a series of frescoes dedicated to the saints of Francesco Morone and the beautiful paintings by a painter of the school of Domenico Brusasorzi. The church also houses a dozen valuable paintings dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries before preserved in the ancient church of Our Lady of the Snow. Of this only remains and the bell tower just outside the town of Breonio, since it was destroyed at the end of the ‘5s considered the unstable ground below.
The church of St. Martial was restored in 1963 by the Superintendency of Monuments of Verona.
