Chiesa di Santa Maria Valverde

The church of Santa Maria della Valverde stands on the slopes of Mount Castelon towards the villages of Pezza and Purano, the building is from 1682, as reported by an inscription placed on the high altar in the Baroque style, has Roman cross plan with three naves and three apses, is located within the venerated wooden statue of the Madonna and Child of 1516. Annexed to the church there are the bell tower with a square base built with local stone, a small cemetery that houses the dead of the surrounding villages and a small courtyard surrounded by cypress trees where you can enjoy a splendid view over the valley.
