Church Saints Benigno and Caro called “della Disciplina”

In the historic center of Malcesine on Lake Garda

Church Saints Benigno and Caro is located in the upper part of the town, close to the houses of the village; There is no definite news about the construction date of the building, but in the parish books it is said that in 1532 it was a very popular church. The facade has a window in the center with two lateral niches where the statues of S.Benigno and S. Caro are located, then the square-bell tower resting on the roof of the church is seen. The interior has a single nave with barrel vault and a single red and white marble altar with baroque lines; A fresco depicting the saints is placed above the door of the bell tower, another depiction of the saints is on the altar, in a medallion are depicted the two saints in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, work by Bernardino Casari 18th-century local artist.
