Church San Cipriano
The Church San Cipriano is a very old building, located on a hill next to the old road that led from Lonato to Centenaro and Pozzolengo.
Church San Cipriano it was mentioned in a papal document of 1184 dealing with properties related to the parish church of San Zeno. Centuries later it is considered of no value and therefore is kept closed to the public; in the early eighteenth century it was raided by French troops, while in 1722 the bell tower was restored and built. The church has a very simple façade, a gabled roof, a simple and modest entrance surmounted by a rectangular window; the semicircular apse is divided into three parts by thin pilasters resting on a high base, in it there are three arched splayed windows that are similar to those in the apse of the parish church of San Zeno in Lonato and those of the church of San Donino and church of San Girolamo in Desenzano. The masonry technique of the façade, of the northern and apse perimeter is in drafts and split stones of various lithology and color arranged in sub-horizontal courses, similar to that of Sant ‘Emiliano of Padenghe. There are three windows in the north perimeter and two in the south, similar to those in the apse, on the north side with soft stone frames (one with an arch in brick), and in the south with limestone frames. From the modern age the reconstruction, inside, of the presbytery, the bell tower set on the eastern wall and the large rectangular window with a lowered brick arch that disfigured the façade.
