Church San Giovanni Battista
The Church San Giovanni Battista is located in a little square near to the main one, del City Hall and the Civic Tower.
Church San Giovanni Battista is in Baroque style, full of columns and capitals, has four statues, two placed in niches and two on the curls, above the window there is a frieze with two angels holding the coat of arms of the City. Inside there are thirteen altars on which there are as many shovels, frescoes and paintings on the ceilings, in the dome are represented scenes from the Old and New Testaments and the plumes figures of the four evangelists. Behind the main altar, the altarpiece of Saint John the Baptist was executed between 1749 and 1751 and restored in 2-21, the apse and the choir are from 1727, in the aisles you see the altars of San Teodoro and the Blessed Sacramento, then there are some nice blades that people have offered as fulfillment of vows made during the plague. In the sacristy houses a triptych by Bernardino Licinio of 1528. Fine large fonts in white and yellow marble surmounted by statues of St. John and St. Zeno and the beautiful baptismal font.
