Church San Lorenzo
The Church San Lorenzo is located on the homonymous hill on the road to Peschiera, to the south of the highway
Church San Lorenzo it is a building of the fourteenth century, in a quite isolated position, not far from the church of the Madonna degli Angeli. The building was the first church of Cavalcaselle and was owned by the Marquis Mariotto da Monte, in 1653 it became property of the Marquis Antonio Maffei but in 1667 it was seriously damaged and rebuilt in 1694; in the second half of the nineteenth century it was bought by Gaetano Tiolo. In the past it has been a destination for illustrious pilgrimages such as Dante Alighieri and Maria Callas, during the millennial fair held in November. The church is flanked by a building that was once the convent of the friars.
