Church San Luigi Gonzaga in Molinello
Church San Luigi Gonzaga it is located in Molinello Sopra, to the south-east of the town of Casaloldo, incorporated into a courtyard flanked by the Tartaro-Fabrezza torrent.
Church San Luigi Gonzaga, called del Molinello, is part of a group of court buildings that was built in 1645 by the grandchildren of San Luigi Gonzaga, Cinzia, Olimpia, Gridonia who founded the College of the Virgins of Jesus of Castiglione delle Stiviere in honor of the Saint and they lived in the building adjacent to the church along with other colleges. The institute was also the owner of the Molinello farm of the Turca farm and of the Duranda farm, which had been bought by Giovanni Antonio Aliprandi, grandfather of the three founders. The small church has a single nave with a barrel vault, as well as the presbytery; the altar is of the eighteenth century in gilded wood, the altarpiece depicts San Luigi and Santa Francesca Romana, while the furnishings, not present, were of invaluable workmanship.
