Church San Tomaso of Canterbury rises near the border of the Riva and Arco territories; was built according to the will of Odorico, Conte d’Arco, consecrated in 1194 and then devoted to St. Thomas Becket, bishop of Canterbury, killed in 1170, alongside the count also wanted the leprosy to be built; this explains the distance of the church by the towns of Riva and Arco , then fortified cities . The church is in Romanesque style built with walls made of blocks of well-squared stone , semi-circular apse and a gable roof , the exterior frescoes are of the fourteenth century and the bell tower , simple and elegant , is of a later period . The interior of the church of St. Thomas has a single nave roof with wood paneled six side windows , two sides and two rosettes, one on the front , one on the apse . Were only a few parts of the frescoes in the apse, representing the twelve apostles , the archangel Gabriel, parts of the Annunciation and two bishops , one with a beard , a book in his left hand in his right hand and pastoral , depicting St. Thomas and one more identified in the blessed young Adelpreto .
