Church San Vito
In San Vito di Negrar, home to a castle already in the 10th century
Church San Vito, the original building is supposed to have been built in the middle of the XII century, in Romanesque style, of small size and single nave; Already in 985 it was confirmed the existence of an inhabited castle and a vicus and in 1014, with imperial decree of Henry II, they are owned by the monastery of San Zeno. From some writings of Giberti and Valier Ag between 1532 and 1594, it appears that the original building at that time was in bad condition and that the noble Andrea de Burris had built a new church beside the old one, which remains The Romanesque bell tower. In 1979 the church was restored and extended in length.
