Fishing Museum and local traditions
The museum is housed in the Radetsky Hall of the Artillery Barracks in Porta Verona and is organized by the Amici del Gondolin association
The Fishing Museum and local traditions is a small permanent exhibition where various historical artifacts are kept, such as a collection of typical lake boats donated by members and citizens, materials and tools for fishing, beautiful vintage photos with detailed information that tell the story and traditions of culture and fishing Gardesana. Among the boats stand out a typical Anguillara of the late nineteenth century (recovery of the Sub Club Peschiera); a torbetta, tool to keep fish caught alive; a spingarda for hunting the ducks, exposed with other hunting equipment. Also exhibited are a series of old outboard engines, lamp-lights, various types of nets, fishing rods and a room dedicated to carpenters of fishing boats, the boiler lights, with their work tools.
The merit of this exhibition goes to the Association “Friends of Gondolin” who with tenacity collected the material and placed it in order to then expose it to the public.
