Grotta di Fumane
Fumane Cave is a unique archaeological excavation, which is still operating, also used as a museum to give the opportunity to visit by appointment. The cave is located in the valley of Progno Fumane, inside the Natural Park Lessinia and was discovered in 1962 by Giovanni Solinas, which initially took the name of Shelter Solinas. The excavations, carried out by the University of Ferrara still bear witness to the constant presence of man, from that of Neanderthals, homo sapiens sapiens up to 25 thousand years ago, thus becoming one of the most important prehistoric settlements throughout europe old.
