Bardolino lies between the lake and the first hills of morainic origins that separate the Vallagarina (part of the Adige Valley) from the high Padan Plain. Its territory is hilly and covered with grapevines and olive trees, which give the main products of this village, and it is known both for tourism and for the production of the homonymous wine. The lakeside part of Bardolino is a large pedestrian area, well served with parking spaces, where one can find clothes shops, sports products, bars and restaurants by the lake shore. There are few remaining parts of the boundary walls of the village, but are nonetheless of historical intrest, as well as some churches and villas.

HISTORY OF BARDOLINO
In Bardolino you can find the tracks since prehistoric times, in Cisano there are remains of lake-dwelling civilization of Lake Garda. Then there are various traces of the Roman scattered throughout the municipality as stones, gravestones, building parts and finds cemetery.
Following are alternated various periods of invasion by the Lombards, Goths, Visigoths, Franks; since the time of the Lombards was under the influence of the powerful monks of the Abbey of St. Columba, who founded the monastery of St. Columba; they were to evangelize the area thus promoting the development of commerce, culture and agriculture. In the years around all ‘the 855 countries of the lake clashed with Verona and from there they were united in one administrative area (Gardesana Water) headed by the Garda ity.
The construction of the first castle dates back to the ninth century. It later expanded to include the entire country. In 1222 the fishing rights were established for the benefit of the inhabitants. Since the Middle Ages the town of Bardolino has followed the history of Verona represents an important venue for the navy. Even for the Austrians represented an important point of reference for all municipalities in the Veronese coast, and when the people rebelled in favor of Piedmont, there were heavy reprisals.
