TERRITORY OF VAL LAGARINA
Province: Trento
The large area of Vallagarina extends from the close of the valley “Murazzi”, just north of the village of Besenello (south of Trento), the “Closed Ceraino” at which the Adige river flows into the Po Valley.
Within it there are other areas of considerable size: the west Gresta Valley, which separates the Val Lagarina by the Sarca Valley, south of the vast natural garden of Brentwood plateau dominated by Mount Baldo and East Valleys Leno (named after the creek that flows).
Vallagarina, of glacial origin, and Gardesane Bresciane separates the Alpine foothills to the west, from the Venetian Alps to the east. Its height is kept low, rises no higher than 210 meters above the sea level.
Dominating Vallarsa and Valleys Terragnolo is the south-western side of the group of Pasubio, which extends from the Passo Pian delle Fugazze in Rovereto until Borcola Pass, the border between the provinces of Vicenza and Trento; is therefore part of the Alpine foothills and connects Vicenza to the Small Dolomites plateau of Folgaria.
Among the group of Pasubio and the Group of Carega creeps torrent Leno, the last of the main tributaries of the Adige, consisting of two different streams: Leno Vallarsa and leno Terragnolo. Literally “between the ambi Leni” (Leno Terragnolo in the north and west of Vallarsa) is part of the municipality of Trambileno.
To cross the Vallarsa is also the namesake river, the Rio Vallarsa, flowing in the province of Bolzano.
