Monte Albano Castle

The ruins of Castel Albano Mori are what remains of a network of fortifications from the Middle Ages there were about this district .

Monte Albano Castle is not possible to understand what it looked like also because until now it has never been the subject of archaeological research . There are even documents can tell the life lived here , if not the documents that served as inventories and which were drawn up on the occasion of inheritance very important. These documents were real very precise and detailed lists of what was contained in the buildings , they were very reliable and were used to know the real value of possessions , including those of some castles of Trentino ( including that of Albano ) . In 1413 Otto of Castelbarcos died leaving no direct heir to his will and then the Monte Albano Castle and Nomesino castle passed to William of Castelbarcos , which in turn made ̷̷an inventory of assets due him . From these documents we can read that the castle was built on the rock of Albano , built in masonry and had a tower inside with wood floors and tile roofs . The building has two floors , the ground floor were most of the rooms, among them one for foreigners , a warehouse, a pantry, a microwave , a kitchen, and a loggia , which perhaps opened onto the courtyard ; upstairs rooms for the feudal lord ; were also lower the cellar , the forge , granary , stables and barn . From these documents you can imagine that the inner buildings were of a certain size . Outside the castle there was an orchard , a vegetable garden and beehives because, at that time, the only sweetener was honey . The inventory listed in detail the contents of each room: the number of horses, cattle, chickens and geese in the stables ; many cars and how many work tools in the yard , how many hatchets , pincers , planes and clubs in woodworking ( but there did not appear workshop tools needed ) . The inventory then passed to the possessions financial statements: a bag with coins of gold and silver , the rods of molten silver , silver plates , jewelry of Ursula of Castelbarcos , a sacred icon . From here you can imagine that the Monte Albano Castle had the rooms in wood and masonry , which had cultivated land , that there were vineyards since they had everything you need for making wine. After 270 years the writing of this inventory , the castle was destroyed by Venetian troops and in the following century it was reduced to ruins.
