Porto Vecchio
When the Serenissima settled in Desenzano (half of the fifteenth century.) The "old port" in Desenzano had to start sorting large quantities of merchandise both incoming and outgoing, so it was renovated and equipped for that purpose, at the time was already very large for the time and was protected with a large pier and a cliff by the waves of the lake when there was a storm. In the nineteenth century it was further arranged, was added to the lighthouse and a tram line that was created from the square near the harbor (now public gardens) left for Castiglione and Mantua. Towards the thirties was built "Venetian bridge" which now closes the "old port" and was thoroughly expanded the dock. Today the port is made from the pier of the boats that combine various lakeside towns, the large dock with various mooring piers and small dock also home to the sailing Club.
