San Colombano Hermitage
San Colombano Hermitage is located in the Municipality of Trambileno, to reach it you have to take the road to Vicenza from Piazza Podestà , a path will take you to a long flight of 102 steps carved into the rock, half-height over a cliff of 120 meters is the Hermitage.
San Colombano Hermitage, located about three kilometers from the center, is located in a rocky ravine overlooking the river Leno; perhaps it was inhabited in 753 while the construction of the small church and the hermitage is from the 10th century. The legend says that the Saint, then a knight, killed a dragon that made children who were baptized in the waters of the torrent die. From 1996 it is possible to visit it thanks to the voluntary work of the “Friends of San Colombano Committee”.
