Santuario della Madonna del Rio
On the road that leads to Renzano is this sanctuary surrounded by cypress trees dating back to the eighteenth century. It was erected by virtue miraculous apparition of the Virgin Mary that had been construed to require protection from river flooding, over which passes the bridge that must be followed to gain access to the church.
The church, which depends on the Parish of Salò, features characteristic interiors and free of valuable artistic traces, although until a few years ago retained an important altarpiece of the Madonna with Child by Martin Martinazzoli in 1527 which is now housed in a lounge at the Canonica di Salò for security reasons.
During the Easter Monday this place is alive with pilgrims and faithful stalls and walking along the slopes of the surrounding mountains.
