Soiano Castle
Soiano Castle
on Valtenesi hills
Soiano Castle was built in the tenth century following the Hungarian invasions, is positioned on top of the country, connected to it by a tree-lined avenue. The city wall is characterized by the presence of a square tower and a trapezoidal. Access is to the west, through the old porte cochere. Adjacent to the porte cochere, you can still see the pedestrian gate, now walled up. Above the two doors are obvious loopholes of the drawbridge. One of the towers was, during the time, transformed in the tower bell of the near parish church San Michele Arcangelo.
