Square Santa Maria
In Square Santa Maria revolves the daily commercial life of Montichiari and here is also the mighty bulk of the Duomo.
In Square Santa Maria, in addition to the shops, there are some historical buildings of Montichiari like the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, on the north side the Loggia and the church of San Pietro, while on the east side are the Tebaldini house and Liberty palace; in addition there is a balcony with a plaque named after Giuseppe Garibaldi who, in 1862, inflamed the spirits with the cry of Rome and Venice, however, broken by the heroic Obbedisco. There is another memorial that commemorates the fifth anniversary of the Thousand’s enterprise and is located on the façade of the Loggia.
