Square Ugo Dallò

Square Ugo Dallò, also called Piazza Colonna at the time of the Gonzagas, as there is the “Column of Justice”, was the administrative and legal center of the city.

Square Ugo Dallò it is a beautiful square on the road that leads to the cathedral, it remains slightly raised compared to the street level of the two streets passing by; on two sides has a portico, in the middle of the square there is a fountain with the statue of Domenica Calubini, while the column of justice is still there with the statue of Astrea on it. Another peculiarity is the “coast of the whale” that is hung on the corner with Via Giovanni Chiassi, it really is a whale jaw donated by Carlo Brescianelli.
