Strada della Forra
The famous gorge road winds its way through the bowels of the mountain and along the cliffs overlooking the lake, connecting with Pieve Porto and Vesio. For centuries, only a steep path had joined the port to the capital leaving Tremosine isolated until 1913, the year in which the road was designed by Arturo Cozzaglio (1862-195) was inaugurated.
Considered the most beautiful street in the world and defined by Winston Churchill the eighth wonder of the world, this picturesque stretch of road runs along the gorge of the river Brasa, sometimes carved into the rock and sometimes on cliffs overlooking the thrill ‘blue Garda. Follow this road is a must: in a few minutes you can go from busy Lake Garda shore to the tranquility of the plateau, from where you can contemplate views of rare nature.
This road is also set several film productions, including that of the movie Quantum of Solace in the James Bond chase scene or the film The International.
