Torre civica di Goito
The Civic Tower of Goito is one of the symbols of the town and its existence seems to be documented as early as 863 AD and also evidenced by the presence of parts of the Romanesque masonry in the basement ; Bonacolsi collapsed and then reconstructed by using the bricks , with the function of prison and barracks in 1464 was added to the watch by Bartolomeo Manfredi. The structure has a square base with sides of eight meters and a height of about twenty feet , the brickwork full thickness decreases by passing from the ground floor to the top three floors , the ceilings are made of wood up to the third floor and faces of bricks fourth , there are several elements that testify even substantial changes over the centuries , such as the different arrangement of bricks between the base and the upper floors , the presence of gutters and columns on the top floor testify to a rise in the tower. The property has been substantially restored in the ‘8s and ‘9s.
