Town Hall Valeggio
In the main square of Valeggio sul Mincio rises in the XVIII century the town hall, which reflects at that time the rebirth of the town after a seventeenth century spent between pestilence and war.
The Town Hall Valeggio shows an architectural structure intact, thanks to the recent renovations that have given him the original charm. The construction of the Palace ends in the second half of the eighteenth century and is the result of hard work and the desire to rebuild after the devastating pestilence, and war of the previous century, giving way to the new Valeggio. It therefore stands in the country to witness the civil history and the desire to protect what is the cultural and monumental heritage of the area. Strong elements are on the facade the large stone portal, surmounted by a balcony which is accessed from the large communal hall, the stone elements of the ground floor and the tympanum in the center of the building. With the French of the early nineteenth century the building also underwent changes, only the main floor remained public, while the rest became residential or commercial use; later there were the Austrians and, from 1815, the building became the seat of the Imperial Royal Municipal Deputation until 1866, annexed to the Kingdom of Italy. Restoration of the building began in 1958 and was completed in 1996.
