Vittoriale Amphitheater
Vittoriale Amphitheater, located in the grounds of the Museum of the Italian Vittoriale,
placed by Gabriele d’Annunzio in a panoramic position from which you look at the Island lake Garda, the Mount Baldo, the peninsula of Sirmione and Manerba Rocca according to d’Annunzio he had to be called “Parlaggio, a marble basin under the stars.” The idea of its creation was born in 1931 when d’Annunzio sends in Pompeii the architect Gian Carlo Maroni to observe and take inspiration from the Roman world’s oldest; construction work began between 1934 and 35, but are suspended due to lack of funds, for the start of the war and the death of the poet. The project was completed in 1953 through the efforts of the Foundation with the design of the architects Mario Moretti and Italo Maroni (brother of Gian Carlo). The inauguration takes place the ‘8 August 1953.
The Vittoriale Amphitheater annually presents a rich program of events and shows “Tener a Mente” (Keep in mind) from classical to jazz, contemporary, comedy, dance and more
